There are many reasons we began the Stomp Out Cancer Fund to serve cancer patients in Manistee and Mason Counties:
- We all have been touched by this disease in some way.
- We want those fighting cancer in our community to know their friends and neighbors care about them and their fight.
- We want funds available for distribution year around.
The first event was the Snowshoe Stampede, which began as a fundraiser to help local cancer patients in our area. Then we began fundraising year around with various events. It became clear we needed to form a non-profit organization in order to make sure the money we raised was used for local cancer patients only. The Stomp Out Cancer Fund was created as a non-profit organization. We are waiting for our official 501-C3 status at this time. The committee is very pleased with the increased support we have received.
Our mission is one of kindness and giving. Our goal is one of support and assistance. We will succeed in our mission with the help of our fellow community members until this devastating disease is cured.
